Daniel and Asia Wall of Many Sparrows believe that true life flows from one guiding principle: following the person of Jesus, as closely as possible, as simply as possible. Healing the sick, delivering those who are oppressed, preaching the good news of salvation to the poor. Carrying the message of love to a world that is hungry for it, through music, missions and daily life. It is not hard to see Jesus in the face of the hungry kid on the street in India, the homeless man standing on the corner in downtown Fort Worth, the refugee living in a tent in Iraq, or the banker on Wall Street who comes home to an empty apartment at night. He created them all, and He loves them so. It is a privilege and a calling to let them know, until all have heard.
“To be commanded to love God at all, let alone in the wilderness, is like being commanded to be well when we are sick, to sing for joy when we are dying of thirst, to run when our legs are broken. But this is the first and great commandment nonetheless. Even in the wilderness - especially in the wilderness - you shall love him.”
Asia processes her personal experiences surrounding racism, and her struggle to know what to think, how to respond, and how to rightfully attribute these experiences.
Asia ruminates on the meaning of family, and what it looks like to “belong” to the world, versus belonging to the family of God.
